Results are IN!

Thanks you for your support – this year our Scouts earned over $500 into their personal scout accounts to be used towards activities.

The troop also earned enough money to purchase a new trailer so we are excited!

Scouts will be surveying their customers for feedback on how we can improve this event next time.

Parents – we need your help!

Parents: For the BBQ fund raiser to work we need your help.  I’m really looking forward to meeting and working with some of your parents we don’t normally get to see!

We have openings on the Processing / Packaging team, and Pickup team, and on the Cleanup team.

The Processing / Packaging team reports for duty at 0700 on Saturday October 15 and is responsible for processing the cooked meat and packaging into 1 lb containers.  The pork will be chopped in electric choppers and will be sauced during the chopping phase.  The turkey will be hand pulled and packaged into 1 lb containers.  We need adult oversight to lead a team of ~10 scouts to perform the processing.

The Pickup team reports for duty at 0900 on Saturday October 15 and will oversee the distribution of the BBQ to the customers.  Customers are expected to bring proof of purchase (ticket stubs or paypal receipt), but inevitably we expect customers will present themselves without complete proof of purchase.  This will require cross checking customers off of a list of sold product.

The Cleanup team is responsible for all cleanup duties including, but not limited to, pressure washing the pavilion, cleaning and wire brushing all grills, refilling propane tanks, and otherwise returning Westminster Park to pre cook condition.  The Cleanup team gets started as soon as the processing is complete – estimated to be around 1100 on Saturday October 15.

Let us know where you can help.  October 14-15th are important dates on the Troop calendar.  Please let us know where you can help!

Tickets on order!

We’ve ordered the tickets – 2,500 tickets for the pork and 300 tickets for the turkey.  We got the pork tickets stapled in books of 10 and the turkey tickets stapled in books of 5.  We’re hoping that will make is easier for the scouts to keep up with the unsold tickets.

Hopefully the tickets will be here for distribution at the next meeting 8/22/2011.
